Kirigami

This cake was created to celebrate a Confirmation. The "honoree" (and one of my kids favorite babysitters) does kirigami as a hobby. Her designs are absolutely beautiful. This cake was my attempt to mimic a few of her creations out of fondant. It was a challenge - as fondant stretches when it is cut and you try to move it! The top layer of the cake was "I Remember Chocolate" with raspberry and vanilla buttercream and the bottom layer was "I Love Lemon" with lemon curd and vanilla buttercream
